Glasgow West Team News Update

I thought I would give you all a break from reading about the great services we offer and tell you about some of our team members and the fantastic year we have had so far, from both a business and personal position.

Franchise of the Year Winner 2016

Franchise of the Year Winner 2016

2017 started off with an amazing achievement for our team when we won Franchise of the Year for 2016.  By winning this award, our team have gone into the record books as it was the first time in the history of Rainbow International that the same franchise has won this award two years in a row as we also won in 2015.  Our entire team were gobsmacked and totally delighted to be recognised for the work we do and services we provide.

A few of us in the team have reached a milestone this year, yip the BIG 50 has arrived and it would be fair to say this has been celebrated in style.

First to join the 50 Club was Tom, our Leader and Chief.  Tom normally loves an excuse for a celebration (providing he is not at the centre of it)  However I totally ignored that and threw him a little party at home for family and a few close friends.  He wont thank me for this picture of the morning after the night before… but it was a great night.

Second to join the BIG 50 Club was our Head Cleaner, Lorraine McGivern.  Lorraine has worked with us now for just under 4 years and is a much respected and valued member of the team.  Lorraine looks after all the staff especially when they are working away from home, as they do on a regular basis.

Lorraine is a very experienced worker in our team and also helps new members of staff learn the practices and procedures we follow.  Every team should have a Lorraine in it.

Lorraine also loves to cook but has a tendency to marinate just about everything! Something she is very proud of too!!

Next to reach the BIG 50 was our General Manager, Jim McGonnagle.

Jim joined our team almost 3 years ago but has over 20 years experience in the Fire & Flood Industry so its fair to say he knows his stuff.  Jim has a great personality and will always go over and beyond what is asked of him.

The customers love Jim.  Often when Jim arrives at a property and the customer is upset at their situation and sometimes even crying openly, by the time Jim leaves he is getting cuddles and heartfelt thanks for his support and encouragement.  Jim always tries to ensure our customers experience as good a service as possible from our team.

The staff also hold Jim in high regard as he is always there for them when they need him giving advice and encouragement when required.

Tom and Jim have been close friends since childhood.  You can see this from the picture below which we believe was taken around 1973…which explains the retro gear!!  Sadly their fashion sense has not improved much over the years but they do benefit from partners who ensure they do not go out looking like they got dressed in the dark!!

Tom and Jim were given tickets for the British Grand Prix for their birthdays and enjoyed a fantastic weekend at Silverstone.  They even have the T-Shirt to prove it.

The final BIG 50 Club member this year is me.  Our lovely administrators (pictured below) got together and sent me on a (much needed) makeover to help me prepare for my party.  I’s say there money was well spent but I am bias…all kidding aside it was a lovely experience being pampered.

I do love a party as I get to have all my favourite people in the one place and get a chance to catch up, have a laugh and a refreshment or two.

If anyone tells you that I am partial to a wee glass of Prosecco (or two) they are telling the truth!!  So much so that I am sure there will be a Prosecco drought in Scotland due to the amount of bottles of it I have acquired over the last week…not that I am complaining mind as working for Rainbow International is thirsty work.

It was also great that some of the team could be there to help me celebrate.  There is even an ex member of the team in this one.  Sadly not all of the team could be there due to the distance involved and Out of Hours cover etc but we all had a drink for them (it would have been rude not to) and a great night was had by all.

So that’s the first half of the year over and we are all looking forward to the next half.  Its got a lot to live up to.
